To travel from Madrid to Barcelona by train, you will use a high-speed AVE train from RENFE. Travel time is only 2.5 hours for the distance of 620 kilometers. Second class tickets are available from 40 EUR and first class tickets from 55 EUR. Frequent connections are available, at least every hour. The departure station in Madrid is called “Madrid Atocha”. The arrival station in Barcelona is called “Barcelona Sants”.

Ride the traditional streetcars through Lisbon’s cobblestone streets, taste octopus or cod at the Mercado da Ribeira. We will travel north to visit the sanctuary of Fatima and be amazed by the fascinating views from the viewpoints of Porto. We will continue the circuit in Santiago de Compostela, the mystical and revered end point of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route. We will continue along the coast of the Cantabrian Sea to Santander and then Bilbao, famous for its pinchos and the Guggenheim Museum.
*On Tuesdays and during the months of January – February, the Magic Fountain of Montjuic is closed for maintenance. In that case, the activity will be replaced by a night walk to the Olympic Port.
We will continue to get to know the Valencian Community. Alicante will be our first stop and we will have time to stroll around this pleasant maritime city. After lunch we will continue to the region of Murcia where we will visit Caravaca de la Cruz, a town considered by the Catholic Church as one of the five holy cities, its church holds a relic of the Cross of Christ. There we will go up to the area in a tourist train. After that we will continue along an attractive scenic road towards Andalusia until we reach Granada.

All the while you will be surrounded by some of the world’s most fascinating architecture.
