Explore the Hidden Secrets of New Zealand
New Zealand is my most favorite destination. The Rugby World Cup will be held the next fall in New Zealand, which adds more excitement to an already popular destination. Apart from other locations, Wellington is the most popular tourist destination of New Zealand.
Wellington is considered as the coolest little capital in the world. The city will host some of the activities for the World Cup and hopes to attract fans who want to explore other parts of the country. Wellington is also known as ‘Wellywood,’ and it has some of the most stunning sites to explore. This place is like a kind of springboard and it is also quite famous for art, culture and dance. I have learnt haka, the fierce Maori dance, which is the most famous dance of Maori culture.
On my visit to the New Zealand, I have found that there’s no place on earth quite like the South Island. In fact, it would be hard-pressed to find anywhere in the universe as beautiful as this beautiful chunk of land in the South Pacific Ocean.
The South Island is an enchanting paradise of rolling green hills, craggy glacier-clad mountains and wind swept beaches. It seems that Mother Nature painted her finest strokes when she crafted this fantasy landscape.
It is no wonder to fell in love with the track from Christchurch to Dunedin, Queenstown Milford Sound, Abel Tasman and Marlborough. The Catlins just out from the mainland two hours south of Dunedin at the southernmost tip of New Zealand is much like a secret land to be explored. Filled with rugged beaches, glowing lighthouses, and rich maritime history make this a perfect place to spend vacation.
The multi-day path along the former tracks on the Otago Central Rail links a series of small hamlets in the farm-covered plains of Central Otago. Moving ahead from this location by a rental car, you can encounter pancake rocks in Punakaiki. Hidden in the thick forest are a string of underground caves and marvelous rock formations. You can explore Fox River Cave and enjoy a night in this place.
Tourists from all over Queensland visit Gibbston Valley, leaving Bannockburn a peaceful place for wine lovers. Nicknamed as “the heart of the desert” for its warm, dry climate, this region straddles the arid hills of central Otago. The desolate Mt Cook National Park is of its kind. We took a car hire to explore this region and it was really a great experience. Being home to country’s highest peaks, this land of rock and ice embodies the Kiwi spirit of adventure. A multitude of trails cover the glacial river valleys and daring mountaineers camp out below to seek new heights. Lake Tekapo is also a wonderful place to visit. Its dazzling pale blue water is an outstanding result of glacial sediments from the last ice age.
Quite famous as one of the world’s greatest rail journeys, the twice-daily train departs from Christchurch through the Canterbury plains and into the heights of Arthur’s Pass. As you bisect the center of the South Island and move ahead the Southern Alps, you can witness the transformation from the arid east coast to the rainy west.
Thus, there are many hidden treasures in New Zealand to explore and enjoy. It was really a great experience for me to visit these places and enjoy my vacation in the land of kiwis.
