Visas for Australia 2022
Australia VisaIf your country is not part of the Commonwealth, you will generally need to apply for a visa to go to Australia. To apply for most visas you will be able to use the Australian government’s online platform.
The student visa in Australia allows you to work and study at the same time. By enrolling in any course, including language courses, you can apply for this visa. However, it must have a duration of at least three months.
It is an ideal way to start working in Australia. We will be able to start working from the moment the course starts, with a maximum of 20 hours per week. The visa also includes a period of one or two months of vacation in which we will be able to work 40 hours per week.
In this way, the student can put into practice the knowledge acquired during his or her training. It is a way for the government to ensure that its large investment in education is rewarded and that students contribute to the wealth of the country.
Free Australian Visa
ETA stands for Electronic Travel Authority. You are faced with an alternative to traditional paper travel documents, which are linked to your passport electronically. Then, when you head to the airport to board your flight, the check-in attendant will confirm electronically that you are authorized to enter the country with your ETA visa or, alternatively, with the eVisitor Australia authorization.
Australia launched its ETA system in 1996, to replace paper authorizations or the need to stamp your passport, while the eVisitor system as a visa for Australia, which is the one you are most interested in, was launched in 2008.
As mentioned above, you can obtain a visa to travel to Australia even if your passport has less than 6 months validity. However, it is recommended that you travel with a passport valid for at least 6 months, prior to your tourist or business trip to Australia.
It is important to note that ETA and eVisitor visas are only valid for short stays of up to a maximum of three months (90 days) for tourism or business. For example, this could involve watching kangaroos in the outback or, if you are on business, attending a conference at the Sydney Opera House. If you intend to stay longer, for example, to study or find a permanent job there, you should visit the nearest Australian embassy or consulate to apply for your documentation there.
Australian tourist visa for Colombians
Please note that you can only apply for this visa from outside Australia. But, no worries! In addition to these visas, you have other options to travel to Australia as a tourist, on the official website of the Australian government you can check which ones meet your requirements.
If you want to renew your visa you have to know that, from the 2nd consecutive visa renewal from Australia, the government will ask for $700AUD, an extra fee, in addition to the usual cost of your visa. We explain it with some examples:
