International travel doesn’t have to be a hassle: you just need to make sure you have all the necessary travel documents in order. If you are going on an international trip, you should make sure you have the proper documents to enter and cross all the countries included in your trip and to return home afterwards.
Before you travel, be sure to check the entry requirements for all the countries you will be visiting at their respective consulates. The responsibility for obtaining the proper documents for international travel is yours alone. If you do not have the required documents and identification certificates, you will not be allowed to board the aircraft and you will be responsible for any costs resulting from this prohibition.
Passports are required for all international travel. If you are traveling abroad, you need a passport to board the international flight and to enter the country. Card-type passports are not considered a valid form of identification for international air travel.

The type of visa depends on the period of stay in Australia and the purpose of the visit. For example, you may be visiting Australia as a tourist or businessman; you may want a short stay for temporary work, sports or training programs; you may want to settle in Australia permanently as a skilled worker.
Some tourist visas are granted through the Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) system, which issues an electronic permit to travel to Australia for a period of no more than 3 months, which cannot be extended.
This visa eliminates the need for a passport sticker or stamp. It is generally issued to passport holders from more than 33 countries in Europe, Asia and North America (United States and Canada) through travel agents, authorized airlines or specialized offices to whom the Australian government provides this service free of charge to be offered to travelers.
Australian visa requirements
The Visa Waiver Program (VWP) allows citizens of certain countries to travel to the United States for tourism or business (the purpose of visitor visas) for stays of 90 days or less without obtaining a visa. Not all countries participate in the VWP, and not all travelers from countries covered by the VWP are eligible for the program. VWP travelers must apply for authorization through the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA), are screened at the U.S. port of entry, and are enrolled in the Department of Homeland Security’s OBIM.
Citizens of countries covered by the VWP who plan to travel to the United States for temporary business or pleasure need an approved Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) authorization before boarding air or sea cargo transportation to the United States under the VWP.
