POSITANO: THE MOST INCREDIBLE SCENERY WE HAVE EVER SEEN.
Positano is popular with lovers who opt for a romantic getaway. The local restaurants, where you can taste the most popular national specialties and imported wines from different regions of the country, deserve this high praise. Fans of beach vacations will not be disappointed as well. They will have the opportunity to swim and sunbathe on the picturesque sandy beaches.
The town of Positano is literally built vertically, on the cliffs. The streets are characterized by countless stairs and alleys that lead, almost unintentionally, to the sea. Just looking at the city from afar you realize the complexity and beauty of its constructions. If you are looking for a place to see Positano, from the beach you get one of the best views of the town. If you look up, the houses are stacked on the cliffs appearing to be perched on top of each other.
You can also reach Positano by boat, there are many lines that make routes with the main cities of the Amalfi Coast: Amalfi, Maiori, Minori, and other nearby cities: Sorrento, Salerno, Naples. You can check prices and schedules directly at the port of Positano. Remember that during the winter many routes do not operate. The service depends on the weather, so in case of rough sea many lines are suspended. Therefore I recommend to buy the ticket directly at the ticket office, to avoid problems in case of bad weather.
Positano and Amalfi ☀️ – tour of Italy day 8.
There is always a first time, a first experience and here I will go on to tell you about our first trip to Positano, a movie place, which I fell madly in love with, although not everything is rosy and I will give you my impressions about it.
This wonderful seaside town is located on the shores of the Gulf of Salerno, about 40 kilometers from Naples in the region of Campania, Italy, and is along with Ravello and Amalfi, the most important destination of the Amalfi Coast. It enjoyed great splendor and then went into a deep decadence, until in the 50’s its fortune began to change. The reference provided by great writers and celebrities who visited the place, made tourists from all over the world began to arrive. At present the destination has approximately 4 thousand inhabitants, most of whom make their living from tourism.
We arrived from Venice, where we took an Easy Jet flight to Naples airport… there we left the airport and took a bus to Sorrento and then took another one to Positano, but I will talk about that in another post.
