Also not to be forgotten is the use of ingredients such as bergamot skin, sweet onions, swordfish and horse meat, and the different varieties of handmade pasta such as “strangugghj”, “fileja” and “maccaruni”.

What to see in calabria

Indeed, although almost all of us know Italy, and quite possibly we have been there several or many times (logical, since half of the world’s artistic heritage is there), it is also true that the tours to the transalpine country focus on a few cities, magnificent, no doubt, without reaching many others of exceptional value, which, in addition, being much freer of visitors, can be known with the serenity and normality that every traveler desires.

The third great goal, splendid colophon to such an exceptional trip was ROME, the Eternal City, a city par excellence and infinite, with the greatest concentration of world artistic heritage, always with new wonders to discover, and where its sublime creations, so many times seen live, or in photographs or films, offer each time they are contemplated again new and surprising nuances of its extraordinary beauty.

Along with these three exceptional goals, as we “climbed” during the 12 days of the trip to Rome, we visited other beautiful jewels, all of them World Heritage Sites: the Charterhouse of Padula, Amalfi, Ravello, Pompeii and the Sicilian cities of Catania and Taormina, because to make our trip we flew to the south of Italy, to Sicily, in front of Calabria, and from there, like the Greeks, we arrived by boat to the Calabrian coast.
