The best way to move between towns, cities and islands is through the ferries (they are fast, have several schedules throughout the day and the views are a plus!!!).    I leave you a link to check availability and book tickets online: Buy Ferry Tickets in Amalfi CoastThe bus I would avoid especially if you have vertigo. The roads are very winding, narrow, full of traffic (cars, buses and crazy motorcycles) if you can avoid it you will save yourself dizziness and stress. SITA BUS for schedules, frequency and routes. If you know how to sail, you can rent boats and go out on your own! Great plan! And if you are up for it, another great plan is to rent a Vespa and drive along this breathtaking coast, here is a link to book a boat trip along the Amalfi Coast.

When to visit the Amalfi Coast: Summer is the season where you can enjoy the scenic coastline and sublime beaches, but it coincides with the highest influx of tourism which makes it a very busy destination.  The ideal months (for weather and visitors) are May/June or September/October. I would avoid July/August if possible. In the winter the days are a little shorter and although you don’t “live” the summer climate of these towns, you can enjoy them with a different calmness. For the holidays it is a very nice destination!
