Hello everybody! With my partner we are planning a trip from Italy to Switzerland. We are from Argentina. We would fly to Rome and from there (by car or train) go touching nice places. We have 12 days, so we would need help to know:
I know from Milan, Turin, Venice, Rome, Naples, and the Amalfi coast (Sorrento and the little towns Amalfi, Positano, Ravello), Pompeii… everything has its charm,.. all this I traveled in different trips.
Hi, sorry but Italy is a big, complex and very varied country, and you can’t say in general what you should see, nor describe it all in one answer in a forum. Most tourists go to Rome, Florence and Venice and totally ignore many other places, but it doesn’t mean that they all have to go to the same places (which also have a very touristic character and problems such as high prices and large crowds).
For Switzerland, it is true that it is a very expensive country and has the inconvenience of having to change money, with other expenses. However, if you have particularly to Switzerland (about this also, in any case, it is impossible to speak so much in general), there is one thing that can be cheap, the trains from Italy. If you book in advance on the Trenitalia website you can find fares like 9 euros from Milan to Zurich (which also allows you to see a good part of Switzerland). However, for the budget it would be better if you go to Zurich (or another Swiss city) and walk around a little bit without buying anything, taking something to eat from Italy…

Time to stroll around and have dinner. Transfer to the hotel.
Continue to Pisa. In a tourist train we will go to Piazza Dei Miracoli (Square of Miracles), where there will be time to admire one of the most attractive and beautiful art complexes in Italy, including the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. Continuation to Rome, arrival at the end of the day.
