Travel from Roma Termini central station directly to the heart of Naples, just a few minutes’ walk from the shopping streets and major Neapolitan attractions. And enjoy the comforts of Trenitalia and Italo trains, with WiFi access, cafeteria car and 4 different levels of comfort. You’ll be in Naples before you know it.

I found the departure platform for my train with no problems and, despite arriving 15 minutes before departure, to my surprise it was already completely crowded. Although I chose a Standard class ticket, my seat was relatively comfortable and had a plug to charge my cell phone. Also, during the trip I was chatting with a couple of professors who were teaching in Rome and were going to Naples for an archaeology conference.

When I left the station I discovered that I was in Piazza Garibaldi, one of the most famous squares in the city. Despite the heavy traffic of scooters and motorcycles, I crossed the square and took Corso Umberto I and Via Ammiraglio Acton to reach the center. Half an hour later I was in Piazza del Plebiscito, the most important square in Naples. If you prefer not to walk, you can take the metro from the train station itself – the stop is called Napoli Garibaldi and is part of lines 1 and 2 – take line 1 (yellow) and get off at Municipio to go to the center.
