15 days in southern italy

Take advantage of this adventure through the south of Italy, starting in the “Eternal City”, Rome, and taking you through the most beautiful and picturesque roads of Sicily. The cities of Naples, Palermo and Sorrento show the best of them, without forgetting the wonderful Island of Capri. On this journey through the boot-shaped country you will lack for nothing: you will experience classic Italian food, wine and style, all the things for which this wonderful country is famous, while discovering the immense natural beauty as you travel through this spectacular corner of Europe.

Today we will start the day, crossing the Cilento National Park, to reach Paola, a town built on the shores of the Tyrrhenian Sea. There we will visit the sanctuary of San Francesco di Paola and have free time for lunch in its beautiful historic center. Then we will continue the route to Villa San Giovanni, where we will embark on a short crossing to the island of Sicily. We will arrive in Messina, where we will visit its beautiful cathedral. We will continue our journey to Taormina. Dinner and overnight.

Southern Italy is the heart of the country, the guardian of beauty and the passage of history. Whoever has not visited southern Italy cannot claim to know Italian culture. Home of mythological gods, natural and architectural beauties make this enclave in the world one of the most beautiful and visited places on planet Earth.

Possibly the best known region in southern Italy is Campania, with cities like its capital Naples, Sorrento or Pompeii, and of course the towns of the Amalfi Coast, make this region a very attractive destination for tourists from all over the world.

Naples is one of the largest and most artistic cities on the Mediterranean coast. It is the third largest city in Italy after Rome and Milan. The city overlooks the gulf that bears its name and extends along the Sorrento peninsula to the volcanic area of the Phlegraean Fields, from there you can see the city in all its splendor, with Vesuvius and its three islands Capri, Ischia and Procida.

Southern Italy has a special personality. Of poetic and colorful landscapes, passionate people and exquisite gastronomy. From Rome we will travel to Naples where we will embark to the Island of Capri, with its pastel-colored houses and enchanting cliffs. We will continue to the enchanting Sorrento and Salerno, on the Amalfi Coast. We will continue our trip to Italy heading south, bordering the Tyrrhenian Sea.

We will get to know Sicily, authentic and captivating. We will enjoy the beaches and the old town of Taormina, at the foot of the Etna volcano. Marsala, province of Trapani, and Palermo, with its neoclassical theaters and its majestic cathedral of the twelfth century await us. In the final part of our tour, we will visit the historic Pompeii, where we will see the remains of the Roman city covered by the ashes of Vesuvius.

We will depart from Rome in the direction of southern Italy. We will pass through Naples where we will embark to visit the Island of Capri. Once there, if we wish, we can take a boat to the White Grotto or the funicular to Capri capital. We will have time for lunch. Then we will embark again and continue to Sorrento, a town full of charm and tourist life that is at the foot of a cliff. We will have time to stroll around this curious town. Continuation to the Gulf of Salerno.
