Going on a trip alone

Traveling alone around the world is one of the great experiences that you should try at least once in your life. Undoubtedly an adventure, since you will live adventures that you would not have traveling in a group.

When we travel alone, we are with a greater predisposition to everything that surrounds us. And I assure you that you will make friends, chat with many people during your trip and even share the road with some of them during part of the journey.

Of course you won’t! On the contrary, you will be able to do whatever you want whenever you want. One of the great advantages is to be able to adapt your trip, to have more flexibility and above all, to be able to modify your itinerary or activities if you like something. And exactly the same for the opposite.

When I have traveled alone, I have decided to do it without taking most of my accommodations. By doing this, I was able to tailor my trip to the experiences. What did I like about the place? Well, I would extend my time there, perhaps by sleeping an extra night there. Or maybe I found a very interesting cultural activity, a festival I didn’t know about, or made friends who offered me an adventure. And you do it, you change your plan, and you continue with whatever you feel like. You don’t get bored at all.

How to travel cheaply in italy

The night before leaving I had everything ready. Tent, bag, mat and maps. As my luggage I took a pair of jeans, some T-shirts, underwear and some sneakers and clothes to go running for a while every day. It’s my way of counteracting the many hours of sitting on the bike on long trips.

I started the trip on a Monday at the same time that almost everyone I met on the road was heading to work. I, who usually find myself in that situation at that time, am sure that no one was riding happier than me that day.

After lunch, consisting of sandwich and soft drink, I continued to devour kilometers with a spring day. It was a sunny day, not cold, no wind… until a little before arriving in Perpignan. There began to blow a wind coming from the left side, it was the famous mistral, a strong wind as I had never known. It was even scary.

I filled the tank again and continued, this time I would not stop until completing this first stage of the trip. I passed through Valence and went in the direction of Lion until I reached Crest, already in the region of the Alps. Fortunately at this point of the route the wind stopped blowing and the day became pleasant again.
