The usual way was to fly through Milan or Rome airport with Alitalia, which offer the most frequent flights. With the entry of the low-cost airports, the options have multiplied since there are almost twenty airports that operate with Vueling/Clickair, Ryan-Air, Meridiana, Windjet, Volareweb, Alpieagles, Air Berlin, etc… Total list of airports in Italy.
The speed limit on freeways is 130 km/h per hour. The speed limit on national roads is 110 Km/h per hour, 90 Km/h on provincial and local roads and 50 Km/h if driving in an urban center.
Gas stations are open every day, except on weekends when shifts are established from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 15:00 p.m. to 19:00 p.m. Payment can be made in cash or with the usual credit cards.
Mistakes when traveling to Italy for the first time
What we do have clear is that traveling to Italy on your own is a before and after in the travel experiences of any foreigner who chooses this corner of the world. The big question you will ask yourself when organizing a trip to Italy. As always, it will depend on the days you have available and what you want to see, but we believe that 7/8 days is the minimum you need to enjoy this Mediterranean country.
To travel around Italy we recommend using the train, it is the best option. The stations are located in the center of the cities, besides being a comfortable and inexpensive transport. We will continue on to Turin, where we can enjoy an authentic Italian espresso in one of its traditional cafés.
Under the blue skies of Geneva we can enjoy a classic Swiss fondue. Paris radiates light and charm. Its romantic bridges, outdoor cafes and the century-old lanterns that illuminate the Seine, make up the essence of the city. We will visit the Palace of Versailles and stroll through Montmartre, a neighborhood of artists and painters with the soul of a village.
