Richard McClintock, profesor de latín en el Hampden-Sydney College de Virginia, buscó una de las palabras latinas más oscuras, consectetur, en un pasaje de Lorem Ipsum, y repasando las citas de la palabra en la literatura clásica, descubrió la fuente indudable. Lorem Ipsum procede de los apartados 1.10.32 y 1.10.33 de “de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum” (Los extremos del bien y del mal) de Cicerón, escrito en el año 45 a.C. Este libro es un tratado sobre la teoría de la ética, muy popular durante el Renacimiento. La primera línea de Lorem Ipsum, “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet…”, procede de una línea de la sección 1.10.32.

Cosmos (formerly Cosmos Tours ) is an independent UK tour operator offering a variety of package holidays to the UK market. The tour operator is connected to the international Globus Travel Group, founded in 1928, which is still family owned and based in Lugano, Switzerland. Under the parent company Cosmos Tours Ltd, the tour operator offers vacations through two brands: Cosmos and Avalon Waterways.
Cosmos Holidays was founded in 1961 as Cosmos Tours. It became Cosmos Holidays in 1987. After Globus Travel Group sold Monarch Travel Group to Greybull Capital in October 2014,[1] Monarch stopped using Cosmos as a Monarch Group brand in 2015. However, in March 2017 it was announced that Cosmos Tours had regained full rights and licenses to the Cosmos brand and Monarch would change its corporate name from Cosmos Holidays Limited to Monarch Holidays Limited. [2]
Origins of Cosmos (1928-1986)In 1928, Antonio Mantegazza founded a company specializing in coach tourism called Globus Viaggi. The company started with a fleet of 12 coaches operating local excursions for European tourists in Switzerland. By 1950, Globus Viaggi had grown to a fleet of 33 coaches and offered overnight excursions to Rome, Venice, the Dolomites and the French Riviera. Gradually, these became regularly scheduled tours and became longer to cover more ground. Later that decade, Globus pioneered the Grand European Touring concept by offering first-class European tours to North Americans.
