You can prepare your trip to Italy by yourself: just follow the steps on this page, and everything will be easier. Our best advice is to make your reservations in advance.

There are many types of accommodations, you must decide depending on the type of tourism you are going to do: – For short stays in art cities (Rome, Venice, Florence, Naples,…) you should stay in the city in central accommodations. You will not lose time in moving around, since the stay is short.

Coach Tours: For those who prefer all-inclusive, we have a wide range of organized coach tours throughout the Italian peninsula. With daily or scheduled departures. To all destinations. With a variety of days of duration.

Train Tours: If what you want is a more independent tour, we recommend the tours we have by train. You will travel by train, the hotels we offer will be next to the stations, and you will only join the group for the visits or transfers to and from the airport.

How to travel by car in italy

It is true that most travelers entering the country do so by plane, however, a very popular option is to access certain areas by boat. There are many alternatives of cruises in the Mediterranean and the Adriatic that allow you to know the coastal areas, being also able to make excursions to the larger cities like Rome.

In this sense, one of the best tips to travel to Italy that we can give you is to take into account all the factors: the price you are willing to pay, the time you are going to be there, the amount of places you want to visit, what will be your starting point…

In case you are planning to leave from your origin driving, you should check if your license is valid within these borders. If you are from the European Union, there will be no problem. Otherwise, we recommend that you check the Italian driving regulations in case you need to apply for an international license.

On the other hand, it is convenient to know that tolls and the price of refueling is high and the roads, compared to those of the rest of Europe, are somewhat more neglected depending on the area where you circulate.

Travel to Italy in August

This route starts in Rome and ends in Venice, because this way the round trip flights will be cheaper. You can always do it the other way around, following the directions of the Detailed Route in the opposite direction.

“We would like to thank you for making our life easier and how well everything went thanks to your indications and advice. We went on our honeymoon and we couldn’t have been happier. We will definitely repeat the experience, thanks again!”

To see the details of each day, you must access the Detailed Route. It includes daily visit planning, how to get to each site, authentic restaurants and all the itineraries geolocated on your mobile.

How to travel Italy from north to south

Continue the route by car, now already in the Chianti region, famous for its wines. In the afternoon you will arrive in Florence and you will have time to stroll through its historic center. Book your hotel for the night in Florence. For dinner we will recommend a real gem: a local restaurant, very good and cheap.

The route continues this day to Venice. For this, you can continue with the rental car but we recommend you to go by train (in the Detailed Route we will give you the website and directions so you can book it without problems). Upon arrival you will have time to visit St. Mark’s Square and surroundings. Overnight in Venice.

Recommended route to stroll through the most emblematic neighborhoods of Venice: San Polo, Dorsoduro and Santa Croce. Night in Venice.  We will recommend several local restaurants, especially to try the “cicchetti”, Venetian tapas bars very famous among the locals but unknown to most tourists!

Recommended route to visit the historic center of Milan. At the end take the train to Santa Margherita Ligure. Spend the afternoon in the beautiful village of Portofino. Overnight in Santa Margherita Ligure.
