In summer the temperatures in Milan can be stifling and its lack of coastline does not make it an advisable place to visit. At the same time, the city is deserted, as if it were drowsy due to the high temperatures. One celebration stands out above all others in February, and that is Carnival. Although many towns hold these pre-Lenten celebrations, Venice’s party is by far the most famous. April 25 brings a double dose of celebrations, as the whole country celebrates Liberation Day and Venice celebrates a big feast in honor of St. Mark, the city’s patron saint.

Besides, you will find fewer people during these dates.
