EU PASSPORT: I will be able to travel if I am vaccinated, I have CRP
Italian authorities will from February ask EU travelers entering the country to present the health certificate, so that those immunized will not have to show a negative coronavirus test carried out in the hours before their flight.
Health Minister Roberto Speranza has signed an ordinance lifting this measure, which was imposed in December to try to contain the spread of the coronavirus and especially the omicron variant, his ministry said in a statement.
The Italian government imposed last December that all EU travelers had to present a negative test, regardless of whether they were vaccinated or not; and the unvaccinated also had to comply with a five-day quarantine.
Starting in February, Italy will again require only the health certificate, which proves that you are vaccinated, have passed the disease or have a negative test if you are not immunized. Coronavirus testing remains mandatory for arriving in Italy from most non-EU countries.
