When it’s spring in greece

Greece is one of the most popular destinations on the European continent, with a wide variety of activities and a long list of paradisiacal islands, a tailor-made destination for every tourist. The perfect place for those looking for a cultural destination or a destination of disconnection, it stands out for its extensive culture, present everywhere, along with its picturesque art.

With an impressive history, Greece hides from iconic architecture to its already famous mythology. The hospitality with which tourists are welcomed is undoubtedly one of the main reasons to travel to Greece, and in many cases, to return.

One of the best options is continental Greece, passing through the capital, Athens, with its millenary constructions of the Greek Empire.  Or try relaxing on one of its most iconic islands, such as Crete, Mykonos or Santorini, taking advantage of the opportunity to visit the entire archipelago of Greek islands in the Aegean Sea.

In this day and age and with the amount of tourism in Greece, practically everyone speaks English; you can even find places where you can be understood in French, Italian, German and Spanish. So you won’t have much of a problem when traveling in tourist areas.

In Athens, from June to September takes place the Athens Festival, which includes concerts, theater and dance, among others. It is organized in the Odeon of Herodes Atticus. Also in the same locality, between April and October there are numerous programs of light and sound, with performances mainly by folk groups. And finally, beyond the festivals, if what you are looking for is to know a good part of the Greek tradition and idiosyncrasy, we recommend you to go on the dates of the Orthodox Holy Week, one of the most representative exponents of its culture and its most deeply rooted rites.

As for the more continental destinations, it is worth not missing cities like Athens, its capital, Thessaloniki, of great artistic and cultural movement, or Corinth with its great temple dedicated to the god Apollo. Many other places such as the ruins of Thebes or Olympia are also worth visiting.
