We are pleased to inform you of the official announcement of the Greek Government for the opening of Greece for those coming from all countries as of today 07/02/2022. Entry to the country of Greece is allowed under specific restrictions which we detail below.
In the following paragraphs, we provide a step-by-step guide on how to prepare before traveling to Greece as of 07/02/2022. These guidelines are in place to ensure the protection of your health, as well as the health of your loved ones and all those involved in providing you with a safe hospitality experience:
NEW REQUIREMENTS FOR TRAVEL TO GREECE
Greece is a member country of the European Union and a party to the Schengen Treaty. These two capacities determine the visa requirements for foreign nationals wishing to visit Greece.
4. Canadian citizens, those traveling with a valid Canadian passport, do not need a visa to visit Greece. They may enter the country and stay for up to three months. The passport must be valid for at least three months from the date of their intended departure from the country.
5. Citizens of other countries should contact the Greek consular authorities in Canada and ask whether or not they need a visa. Please contact the Greek consulates well in advance of your scheduled visit to (or transit through) Greece.

It is expected that from May 1, 2022, all these restrictions will disappear. The use of face masks indoors will only be mandatory in certain limited cases. Greece wants to boost tourism at all costs this summer, so if you decide to visit, you will find an almost normal climate.
As we told you in Is it safe to travel to Greece, you should always drive with caution, but we advise you to be much more cautious in Greece. Forced overtaking is not uncommon and many drivers expect you to pull straight onto the shoulder so that they can overtake you. In addition, most of the roads are not in good condition.
How to go to GREECE 2022 | Via Athens airport
General Description: Greece is a stable democracy, is a member of the European Union and has a modern infrastructure. The main economic activity in Greece is tourism, so the provision of services in that aspect is very good. The official language is Greek. English is widely spoken. Other languages, such as Spanish, French and Italian, are also widely spoken in tourist areas. In the context of the current political and socioeconomic situation in Greece, travelers are advised to be aware, through the media, travel agencies, airlines and hotels, of possible strikes that may affect basic services such as transportation.
Documents required: Greece is a member of the Schengen Agreement, which allows Argentines, as tourists, to travel within its member countries for a maximum of 90 days. Those who exceed this limit may be deported and/or fined upon leaving Greece or other countries that are part of the agreement. When entering the Schengen zone, the authorities of the country of entry may require a return air ticket and proof of financial solvency. It is recommended to check with the airline and the Diplomatic Representation of the country of entry (most Argentines enter Greece with flights from Madrid, Rome or Paris) about the requirements. To enter Greece, as tourists, Argentines need to have a passport with a minimum validity of six months. No visa is required.
