These guidelines are in place to ensure the protection of your health, as well as the health of your loved ones and all those involved in providing you with a safe hospitality experience:

New requirements for travel to Spain and Greece 2022

Greece reopened its borders on May 15; however, tourists wishing to enter the Hellenic country must present a negative PCR or prove they have been vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Therefore, citizens of the European Union, United Kingdom, Serbia, Israel, United States, United Arab Emirates, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland, among others, will not be quarantined.

European countries open to tourism 2021

What are the requirements to travel to Greece now, do I need a PCR or is the vaccination certificate enough? It is normal that you ask yourself these questions, as we are in a time of many changes. Fortunately, the Hellenic country is one of the destinations where you can travel now. At IATI Insurance, as lovers of Greece, we are going to tell you everything you need to know so that you can plan your adventure and discover beautiful landscapes and corners with centuries of history.

It is expected that from May 1, 2022, all these restrictions will disappear. The use of face masks indoors will only be mandatory in certain limited cases. Greece wants to boost tourism at all costs this summer, so if you decide to visit, you will find an almost normal climate.

As we told you in Is it safe to travel to Greece, you should always drive with caution, but we advise you to be much more cautious in Greece. Forced overtaking is not uncommon and many drivers expect you to pull straight onto the shoulder so that they can overtake you. In addition, most of the roads are not in good condition.

New Travel and Mobility RESTRICTIONS in EUROPE

Greece has been one of the EU countries least impacted by the pandemic, largely because of the measures imposed by local authorities that effectively contained the spread of the disease. Currently, the measures adopted by the authorities meet European Union standards and it is on the “white list” of countries where travel is possible.

A ministerial decree issued by the competent authorities of the Greek Government states that as of July 1, entry restrictions for foreign visitors are set as follows:

A trip to Greece and Macedonia in September that discovers the most unknown northern regions of Greece and Macedonia. We will explore the dizzying monasteries of Meteora. We will enter Macedonia through the placid city of Ohrid and the route ends near Mount Olympus N.P., already in Thessaloniki.

Greece announced on Friday (12/06) that it will fully open all its airports to flights from abroad at all its borders. All transit passengers will also be allowed from that date.
