The Visa Waiver Program (VWP) allows citizens of certain countries to travel to the United States for tourism or business purposes and for a period of less than 90 days without obtaining a visa. However, there are some restrictions. Not all countries participate in the Visa Waiver Program (VWP).
All citizens of visa waiver countries planning to travel to the United States temporarily for business or pleasure under the Visa Waiver Program will need to receive an electronic travel authorization before boarding a plane or cruise ship bound for the United States. DAY 1/SATURDAY: ARRIVAL ATHENSArrival at Athens International Airport and meeting with our representative. During the transfer to the hotel you will enjoy a panoramic view of the city. DAY 5/WEDNESDAY: RHODE, GREECEAt 7:00 a.m. we arrive in Rhodes. This fortified city was built by an Order of Crusaders. Our excursion takes us to the Temple of Athena on the majestic rocky Acropolis of Lindos, with the Aegean Sea at its foot. From the Acropolis amazing views cover the expanse down to the sea and St. Paul’s Bay, where the apostle docked on his historic journey to Ephesus. Lunch on board and afternoon at leisure to enjoy a stroll around the medieval walled town of Rhodes or a coffee in one of the elegant and cosmopolitan cafes in the harbor. At 6:00 p.m. we set sail for Heraklion, Crete.
DAY 8/SATURDAY: TOLON – NAUPLIA – MICENNA – OLYMPIADeparture for Nafplion (short stop), the first capital of modern Greece, where we will see the beautiful harbor and the city’s magnificent fortifications, built by the Italians during the occupation of the country. Next stop will be at Mycenae to visit the remains of a prehistoric fortified citadel with Cyclopean Walls, the Lions Gate, the ruins of the Mycenaean Palace and the Tomb of King Agamemnon. Presentation of research at the site. Lunch at a local restaurant in Mycenae and departure to Olympia where we will spend the night.
