How to travel cheaply in France

Hotels in Venice are extremely expensive. Also I understand that many of them need a good renovation inside. Also the vacation rental apartments are way over what I would call low budget. However, it is possible to find some interesting deals as long as you travel in low season and outside of long weekends. For example, if you travel in November, I found this one for 45€ per night for a double room on a room only basis, which is very well located. The decor is not very modern and it has no luxuries but it looks neat and has good reviews. This other one for 50 € per night for a double room (without breakfast) also looks very good. It has a good location too.
These prices are not very common on the island, but they are possible if you look at it with time and in low season months. Normally a very normal hotel can be around 100€ for a double room without breakfast.
If you are traveling alone, the cheapest option is to stay in a hostel. I found this one from the Generator chain which looks excellent. There are beds in shared dormitories from 26€. In terms of quality-price low-cost version, it is one of the best you can find on the island.
Backpacking in Europe 2022
You started your Au Pair experience and every now and then you have a weekend off? Of course, the first thing that comes to your mind is to travel and explore the country you live in or maybe visit your friends and family back home. But is it possible to travel on a budget as an Au Pair? Without a doubt, yes.
It has happened to all of us, walking around a city center, browsing and occasionally buying some overpriced mugs or magnets with the city’s logo on them. If you really need these things, then go to the supermarket or any place that is NOT a souvenir store and buy it there. But we recommend that you bring something nice like local food or wine, you can usually find very affordable options in supermarkets and your friends or family would surely like to taste something from the country you’ve been to while listening to your stories about your amazing travel experience.
Depending on their budget and your preferences, you may want to find affordable, cheap or free accommodation. For the first option check Airbnb or Booking. For the second, Hostelworld or Hostelbookers. You can also check out Hotelscombined or Expedia, which compare different hotels, hostel rooms and apartments and you can use filters to find the one that fits your plans. If you don’t want to pay for a bed, try to find a host on Couchsurfing, in big cities it usually works very well.

The origins of the OSCE date back to the era of détente in the early 1970s, when the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe (CSCE) was established as a multilateral forum for dialogue and negotiation between Eastern and Western Europe.
The Helsinki Final Act, which was signed on August 1, 1975, delimits the OSCE’s scope of action. It established ten fundamental principles governing relations between the participating states, such as refraining from the threat or use of force and the intangibility of the borders resulting from World War II, which remain two cornerstones of European security.
The European Union has been involved in mediation work (e.g. the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict with the Minsk Group and its co-chairmanship, of which France is a member, the Transnistrian conflict and the crisis in Ukraine);
The fight against transnational threats has become very important over the past decade; it was one of the priorities of the Astana Summit in 2010; important changes have made the organization a major regional player: creation of the post of coordinator of transnational threat activity in the General Secretariat and adoption of several decisions concerning the strengthening of police cooperation, the fight against drug trafficking, terrorism or human trafficking, in particular by working with the OSCE Mediterranean and Asian partners.

Most major French cities have a self-service bike rental system: Vélib’ in Paris, Vélov’ in Lyon or Vélo Bleu in Nice. An annual subscription (between 15 and 30 euros on average) is the easiest way to take advantage of this service.
In Paris, Neuilly-sur-Seine and Levallois, residents can also use an electric scooter on a self-service basis. There is no subscription: travel is billed by the minute. There is also no key or ID, everything is done via your smartphone.
In France, cabs are safe. Do not hesitate to use them for your trips. The fares charged are strictly regulated by law and are quite high compared to the international average. All cabs must be equipped with a taximeter that measures the fare. If they do not, they are fake cabs that you should avoid without hesitation.
If you hold a driving license obtained in Europe or an international license if you are not European, you can drive in France. You can also use your personal vehicle in France. However, if you stay more than six months, you will have to apply for an international permit and have your vehicle inspected.
