If you are interested in traveling to Paris, and you need to know what documentation you need to travel, in this article we are going to explain the necessary documentation to travel to Paris. We have divided the section into documentation for EU citizens and for non-EU residents, focusing on Latin American residents.
If you are an EU citizen, the security measures are the same as for all travelers. The basic security measures for hand luggage in a customs control is not to carry soaps, creams, or cosmetic products in bottles that exceed 100ml, that is, each item must be less than 100ml. These items must be inside a plastic bag with a “zipper” closure, like the ones you can buy to freeze food. This security system is performed upon arrival at the airport and long queues are usually organized, for this reason, and to avoid missing the flight with the wait, it is advisable to be at the airport in advance (especially if you check luggage).

Types of visas for France
If you reside in one of the countries included in the “Études en France” (Studies in France) procedure and you need a visa to be able to study in France, you have to apply in advance for your enrollment in higher education on the “Études en France” platform. Your visa application will be automatically transferred to the French consular authorities in your country of residence via this platform.
Upon arrival in France, you have to validate your visa. The procedure is completely dematerialized: you can complete it remotely, from home, with your computer. You have to validate your visa within 3 months of your arrival in France at the latest.
If you wish to stay in France to continue your studies while your VLS-TS visa is about to expire, you have to ask for its renewal with a request at a “préfecture de police” (in France, the police prefecture performs administrative functions), where you have to apply for “une carte de séjour pluriannuelle” (a multiannual residence permit). You have to go through this procedure in France three months before the expiration of your VLS-TS visa.
