New England’s largest city is fairly compact and walkable, perfect for sightseeing in just a few days. History buffs can follow the Freedom Trail to learn about the American Revolution before stopping at the oldest tavern in the country for a local brew. Foodies can savor Italy at the North End or indulge in fresh oysters and clam chowder at the Seaport. Fashionistas, meanwhile, can browse the many stores on Newbury Street and Faneuil Hall. Whatever your interests, your trip to Boston won’t be complete without a visit to Fenway Park.
She loves museums; he loves shopping. Let’s start with Boston’s fabulous art, history and science museums. Two favorites are the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, featuring art and a medieval courtyard, and the USS Constitution Museum, with the “Old Ironsides” docked nearby. Shopping is great on Newbury Street and at the famous Faneuil Hall Marketplace. However, it’s not fair to focus on just one city. Art, history and science museums are plentiful and fascinating in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut.
Rhode island
Rural Massachusetts encompasses temperate deciduous forests (about 62%) and large grasslands with farms. Livestock, agriculture and fishing are highly valued in the state and therefore there are excellent products. Gastronomically, the exquisite fish and seafood of the area are especially popular.
Massachusetts is known for the quality of its universities (Harvard, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston College, Boston University, Northeastern, Tufts, Suffolk…) and its tourist infrastructure, such as Cape Cod or the city of Boston itself, one of the oldest in the United States.
Cape Cod is an important national tourist destination. Located on the peninsula of the same name, animal and plant species abound along the entire coast and the climate is very moderate, almost always pleasant. In the zone it is necessary to visit the locality of Provincetown, the Nickerson State Park or the extensive beaches among which the Dunes of Sandy Neck stand out.
Towns and cities are different in this state, with more historical load. The architecture is different and very interesting. Churches and cathedrals abound in each locality. For example, the Old Ship Church in Hingham stands out for being the oldest church in the United States.
Boston
New England is the name of the geographic and historical region located in the northeastern corner of the United States, bordered by Canada to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the east and south, and the state of New York to the west. It consists of 6 states: Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont and Connecticut.
Prior to September 8, 2010, obtaining this travel authorization was free of charge, but it now costs USD 14 as a tourist tax. Payment of this fee must be made by credit or debit card as an additional step in the application process, so the application is not processed until payment information is received.
Airplane: The city of Boston, the point of entry and exit of the country on this trip, has numerous intercontinental connections with Europe, so good deals and flight prices can be obtained if purchased well in advance and/or outside of peak tourist seasons. In our case we got it for a price of 730 €/pax, but we bought it only 4 days before the trip, so it is possible to get it for considerably less. After searching for our optimal flight combination (especially in price, schedules and flight duration) in several flight search engines we finally bought it directly on the Lufthansa website.
