Costa Rica is ceasing to be the exception in terms of violence and insecurity in the Central American region, which is already directly affecting tourism, one of the most important productive sectors for the economy, warned the local press.
The Canadian government updated its recommendation to citizens visiting Costa Rica letting them know that although “there are no national warnings in effect for Costa Rica, you should exercise a high degree of caution due to the increase in violent crime”.
