Japan 3: Low cost terminal in Singapore

Indice

The Battle of Singapore took place in the Southeast Asian theater of World War II when the Empire of Japan invaded the British fortress of Singapore. The fighting in Singapore lasted from February 7 to 15, 1942. It resulted in the fall of Singapore – the main British military base in Southeast Asia – to the Japanese and represented the surrender of the largest British military group in history. The British Prime Minister at the time, Winston Churchill, called it the “worst disaster” in British military history.

The Chinese, who were the predominant population in Singapore, had long provided material support to China in its war with Japan. This was one of the reasons for the Japanese invasion of Singapore and the subsequent atrocities inflicted by the Japanese occupation on the Chinese.[citation needed] Singapore is located on the southern tip of Singapore.

Singapore is located at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, with which it is connected by the Johor-Singapore Highway. In 1942 it was the main British military base in Southeast Asia.

I was so surprised that perhaps I liked it even more than Halong Bay itself, which is saying something! I know that comparisons are odious, but this place was very top.
