Holders of diplomatic or official passports without accreditation in Russia can stay up to 90 days. Nationals of Serbia with temporary and permanent residence permits may stay without time limits. In all other cases a visa is required. The visa-free regime does not apply to holders of Yugoslav passports.

However, exceptions are made for citizens from certain countries, such as those that have entered into visa-free agreements with Russia. Check with the Russian consulate in your country to find out if you are eligible to enter the country for a short period of time without a visa.

The process for applying for a business visa is very similar to that for applying for a tourist visa. A business visa can be issued for stays of up to 12 months and multiple entries into the country. Some consulates may require a letter from your employer confirming that you work for the company and that you are traveling to Russia for business purposes.
