Russians can travel to Spain

By waging war against a sovereign country, Russia has deliberately decided to violate the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations. To support the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine is not only to help a free people, it is also to defend international law and the security of the European continent. This is why, from the first day of the war, France, together with its partners, has unequivocally supported Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.

The Heads of State and Government of the European Union, meeting at the European Council of June 23-24, 2022, decided to grant Ukraine and Moldova EU candidate country status and recognized Georgia’s European perspective.

Since February 2022, the 27 member states of the European Union have adopted several packages of sanctions against Russia. These measures are aimed at isolating Russia from the international financial system and putting pressure on the political and economic supporters of the Russian regime. They are already having a major impact on the Russian economy and will have an increasing impact, making it more difficult for Russia to continue its war effort.

In an interview with The Washington Post, Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelensky said this week that the “most important sanction” is to “close the borders to the Russians, because they are taking land from others”. In his opinion. the Russians should “live in their own world until they change their mentality”.

In a tweet, Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas expressed her support for this request by the Ukrainian president and said that traveling to Europe is “a privilege, not a human right”: “It’s time to end Russian tourism. Stop issuing tourist visas to Russians”, he said.

Stop issuing tourist visas to Russians. Visiting #Europe is a privilege, not a human right. Air travel from RU is shut down. It means while Schengen countries issue visas, neighbours to Russia carry the burden (FI, EE, LV – sole access points). Time to end tourism from Russia now- Kaja Kallas (@kajakallas) August 9, 2022

has decided to no longer accept people from Russia, who are #Schengen visa holders that has been granted by , to enter the country. I call on other governments to follow such steps.- Urmas Reinsalu (@UrmasReinsalu) August 11, 2022

The European Union closed the entire airspace of its 27 countries to Russian aircraft on Sunday, following a steady stream of airspace closure announcements by member countries over the weekend.

The zone was expanded from 100 to 200 nautical miles from the Ukrainian border with Russia. EASA argues that the expanded zone now considers the “risk posed by the threat of missile launches to and from Ukraine.”

“We have guests traveling in late March and early April to Poland, but that is more than a month away. It’s impossible to say now how it will evolve. We are basically in wait-and-see mode,” Kozlowski said by email.

Tourists with short-term plans to visit Poland are advised to book accommodation in advance, “as some of the hotel infrastructure may be earmarked for those in need.”

“IATA is helping to facilitate the relevant and timely exchange of information with airlines from government and non-government sources to support airlines in planning their operations around the airspace closures in Ukraine and parts of Russia.”
