The European Union closed the entire airspace of its 27 countries to Russian aircraft on Sunday, following a steady stream of airspace closure announcements by member countries over the weekend.

The zone was expanded from 100 to 200 nautical miles from the Ukrainian border with Russia. EASA argues that the expanded zone now considers the “risk posed by the threat of missile launches to and from Ukraine.”

“We have guests traveling in late March and early April to Poland, but that is more than a month away. It’s impossible to say now how it will evolve. We are basically in wait-and-see mode,” Kozlowski said by email.

Tourists with short-term plans to visit Poland are advised to book accommodation in advance, “as some of the hotel infrastructure may be earmarked for those in need.”

As for vaccination, it is estimated that only 55.4% of the population is fully immunized. The rate of vaccination has been stagnant for several months now and, in fact, the government is even having to destroy doses due to their expiration date.

If you travel to Croatia now, you will find the vast majority of tourism businesses and monuments open. The use of masks is only mandatory in medical and social institutions. It is no longer necessary to show a vaccination certificate to enter establishments.

In normal times, you do not need any documentation to travel to Croatia other than a valid ID card or passport. Just keep in mind that the Croatian authorities may require at the border the verification of the sufficiency of financial means (for amounts equivalent to 100€ per person per day) for the stay in the country.

The MAEC advises to drive with great caution, especially on secondary roads. It also recommends keeping your headlights on during the day. In case of an accident, you should call the police, who have to make a police report. Afterwards, a judicial procedure is carried out whereby the passport or ID card is retained and a misdemeanor trial is held on the same day or the following day. After paying the corresponding fine, you will be able to recover your documents. If the accident is serious, it is best to call the consular section of the embassy.
