In line with Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi’s vision to promote investments by Indians abroad, the PIO Investor Helpdesk, launched by Shri Piyush Goyal, Minister of Railways and Commerce & Industry, aims to streamline and encourage economic engagement with the Indian Diaspora.

Invest India, under the aegis of DPIIT, has set up a dedicated team to support these investors, facilitating their investment journey and ensuring a smooth process at every step. This support service will enable prospective PIO investors to seek help and raise issues at any time before, during or after the investment.

The Indian government has made it quick and easy to apply for an Indian visa from Mexico. Mexican nationals can now apply for an Indian visa online from the comfort of their homes thanks to the advent of eVisa. Mexican residents can travel to India electronically using an eVisa.

Some of the oldest civilizations on earth can be found in India. In other places, such as Kutch, excavations, discoveries, writings and seals have been made to prove that planned dwellings existed millennia before. India’s history is as old as mythology and has a rich and spectacular past.

You need India eVisa (eVisa India or Indian Visa online) to witness the amazing sights and experiences as a foreign tourist in India. Alternatively, you could be visiting India on an Indian eCommerce Visa and want to do some recreation and sightseeing in North India and the foothills of the Himalayas. He Indian Immigration Authority encourages visitors to India to apply for Indian Visa online (Indian e-Visa) instead of visiting the Indian Consulate or Embassy.

Depending on the country where you are traveling (there is a big difference between traveling within the European Union or outside) and whether you are passing through or are going to settle there, the requirements to be able to drive there may vary:

If you are going to live abroad and want to take your car with you, you may have to register it in the country where you are going to live. Find out from the consulate of the country you are moving to about the conditions for moving your vehicle and the requirements for driving there.

We advise you to find out from the consulate or tourist office of the country you are going to visit if you need the so-called Carnet de Passages or Carnet de Passages en Douane (CPD), which is the equivalent of a vehicle passport and is required in some countries of the world to be able to drive your vehicle.

It is also important that you find out if it is necessary to carry in your vehicle the so-called Green Card, which guarantees the coverage of your license and facilitates the transit of the vehicle in case of an accident. The Green Card must be provided by your insurance company.

Regardless of whether you have an L-1B or L-1A Visa, the first step is to make sure that your employer is willing to sponsor you for your employment-based Permanent Resident Visa. Once your employer has agreed to sponsor you, you must obtain a PERM Labor Certification (if you have an L-1B Visa).

The H-1B Visa allows employers in the United States to hire foreign workers with certain specialties. This is a Dual Intent Visa, however, it has an annual limit of 65,000 slots (plus some additional waivers) that may be issued. Individuals with Master’s degrees or higher are exempt from this limit, if they are among the first 20,000 people to apply for the visa, or are applying on behalf of an institution of higher education (such as a university). To see if this might be an option for you, see our article on H-1B Visas.

1. The waiting period to come to the United States on an H-1B Visa is almost always shorter than waiting for an equivalent Immigrant Visa to become available, and while you begin the process of getting a Green Card you can live and work in the United States.
