The Indian government has made it quick and easy to apply for an Indian visa from Ireland. Irish citizens can now apply for an Indian visa online from the comfort of their homes thanks to the advent of eVisa. Irish residents can travel to India electronically using an eVisa.
Like many other nations, Irish nationals must apply for an Indian visa before visiting the country for pleasure, business or medical treatment. However, following the introduction of the Indian eVisa in 2014, the procedure has become simple and quick, with applicants only needing to complete the short online application form in less than 15 minutes. It takes no more than 2 to 4 working days to process the application.
Once accepted, tourists can take advantage of India’s countless attractions, including the Himalayan highlands, ancient markets, vast green landscapes, breathtaking deserts and countless World Heritage sites.

In line with Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi’s vision of promoting investments by Indians abroad, the PIO Investor Helpdesk, launched by Shri Piyush Goyal, Minister of Railways and Commerce & Industry, aims to streamline and encourage economic engagement with the Indian Diaspora.
Invest India, under the aegis of DPIIT, has set up a dedicated team to support these investors, facilitating their investment journey and ensuring a smooth process at every step. This support service will enable prospective PIO investors to seek help and raise issues at any time before, during or after the investment.
A foreign national, who was eligible to become a citizen of India on January 26, 1950 or was a citizen of India on January 26, 1950 or at any time thereafter or belonged to a territory which became part of India after August 15, 1947 is an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI).
A non-resident Indian (NRI) must be a citizen of India who holds an Indian passport and has temporarily migrated to another country for six months (stay in India is less than 182 days) or more for employment, residence, education or any other purpose.

Please note that it is mandatory for applicants applying for the OCI card to upload their image and the image of their signature in jpeg or jpg format, details are in the following paragraphs. Please have both images ready before starting the registration process.
Interested applicants must submit the virtual application form (log on to https://ociservices.gov.in/ and upload all required documents (signed by the applicant) in a PDF file, photograph and signature (in the case of minors who cannot sign, a thumb print of the minor’s left hand in black or blue ink is requested) along with the application form.
After submitting the completed virtual application, the applicant must make a hard copy of the application and submit it along with the originals, signed copies of the required documents and payment of the fee to the Embassy. The originals are returned to the applicant after verification in approximately 2 weeks.
