Not everyone who wishes to travel to Costa Rica needs a tourist visa. This will depend on your nationality, purpose of visit, country of residence and length of stay. Visa requirements or exceptions are based on international agreements or treaties. In addition, the visa does not guarantee entry to Costa Rica and as in the United States of America, it depends on the immigration officer upon arrival. Obtain information about visa requirements and application form here.
1. U.S. citizens do not require a Costa Rican entry visa, however, they must have a current valid passport and a ticket to leave Costa Rica within 90 days of entry (either to return to their home country or to go to another country). As a tourist, U.S. citizens cannot stay longer than 90 days. For a stay of more than 90 days a residency permit must be established.
If you will be traveling to Costa Rica from South America and/or Sub-Saharan Africa, you will need the YELLOW FEVER VACCINE. Check the affected countries in the following links: African Continent, South America and Caribbean. You will be able to travel to Costa Rica ten days after the vaccine is given. Exceptions

We travel more and more and for different reasons: tourism, work, business, humanitarian cooperation, and sometimes we travel to very distant places. In all these situations we must take a series of precautions to protect our health.
In the same way that we organize details relating to transportation and stay, it should also be standard practice to take the necessary health measures to reduce the risks associated with travel, by consulting specialized health professionals at international vaccination centers and health centers.
If your destination is a tropical or subtropical country with endemic malaria, you should be aware that malaria is a serious disease transmitted by a mosquito (Anopheles) that injects the malaria parasite into the blood when it bites.
Although there are four species of the malaria parasite that can infect humans and produce the disease (Plasmodium falciparum, P. malariae, P. vivax and P. ovale), it is only P. falciparum that is potentially life-threatening. There is a real risk that anyone of any age can contract this disease.

Requirements for travel to the United States 2022
International travel doesn’t have to be a hassle – you just need to make sure you have all the necessary travel documentation in order. If you are going on an international trip, you should make sure you have the proper documents to enter and cross all the countries included in your journey and to return home afterwards.
Before you travel, be sure to check the entry requirements for all the countries you will be visiting at their respective consulates. The responsibility for obtaining the proper documents for international travel is yours alone. If you do not have the required documents and identification certificates, you will not be allowed to board the aircraft and you will be responsible for any costs resulting from this prohibition.
Passports are required for all international travel. If you are traveling abroad, you need a passport to board the international flight and to enter the country. Card-type passports are not considered a valid form of identification for international air travel.
