In case you do not have your previous passport, you must go to the competent local authority and file a lost passport report, which you must present at the Consular Office with the rest of the necessary requirements, just as if it were the first time you were requesting the issuance of a passport.

Passport renewal can also be done at a Civil Registry office, and in Buenos Aires you can also renew your passport at some shopping malls and airport and river terminals for an additional cost of just over US$ 1 (about 100 Argentine pesos at the official exchange rate).
