TRAVEL CHEAP to GREECE /My best Erasmus Trip

Greece has been one of the EU countries that has suffered less the impact of the pandemic, largely because of the measures imposed by the local authorities and that managed to contain the advance of the disease effectively. Currently, the measures adopted by the authorities meet European Union standards and it is on the “white list” of countries where travel is possible.

A ministerial decree issued by the competent authorities of the Greek Government states that as of July 1, entry restrictions for foreign visitors are set as follows:

A trip to Greece and Macedonia in September that discovers the most unknown northern regions of Greece and Macedonia. We will explore the dizzying monasteries of Meteora. We will enter Macedonia through the placid city of Ohrid and the route ends near Mount Olympus N.P., already in Thessaloniki.

Greece announced on Friday (12/06) that it will fully open all its airports to flights from abroad at all its borders. All transit passengers will also be allowed from that date.

GREECE OPENS ITS DOORS TO TOURISM

Depending on where we have chosen our hotel in Athens, we look for a way to get to the Central Market to make it our starting point, which is not bad to start with…what a crazy fun market!

From here, after a stroll through its alleys, we will head towards Syntagma Square, the nerve center of the city, the place where most of the protests of the people that we have seen on TV so many times against the political class take place.

To get here, we will have to walk along a pedestrian street that is one of the main commercial axes of Athens. Here we will find the most famous international stores and street shows. At the end of it we will find the famous Syntagma Square, which crossing it to the end we will arrive at the Government Palace, the place where the Greek Prime Minister works, and where you can see the curious changing of the Guard at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier … (watch out! Each shoe weighs 3 kg …).

What are the requirements to travel to Greece now, do I need to get a PCR or is the vaccination certificate enough? It’s normal to ask yourself these questions, as we are in a time of many changes. Fortunately, the Hellenic country is one of the destinations where you can travel now. At IATI Insurance, as lovers of Greece, we are going to tell you everything you need to know so that you can plan your adventure and discover beautiful landscapes and corners with centuries of history.

It is expected that from May 1, 2022, all these restrictions will disappear. The use of face masks indoors will only be mandatory in certain limited cases. Greece wants to boost tourism at all costs this summer, so if you decide to visit, you will find an almost normal climate.

As we told you in Is it safe to travel to Greece, you should always drive with caution, but we advise you to be much more cautious in Greece. Forced overtaking is not uncommon and many drivers expect you to pull straight onto the shoulder so that they can overtake you. In addition, most of the roads are not in good condition.
