Antarctica is a collection of extremes – on average it is the windiest, driest, coldest, and highest continent in the world. Approximately only about 200 mm of precipitation per year in the coastal zone, with inland areas even drier. Our Antarctic cruises take you to the coldest place in the world, but along the coast (where you will be on one of our Antarctic cruises) temperatures can reach 10°C on a hot summer day. Expect temperatures just above 0° on a normal day.

WHEN TO GO – The season is short and runs from October to March coinciding with Spring and Summer in the Southern Hemisphere. Most travelers opt for the months of January and February for several reasons. The first is climatic. The days are eternally long and the possibility of having clear days with full sun increases exponentially. But each month has its own advantages and disadvantages.
THE PRICES – The 10-day expeditions are called Classic Antarctica and usually include two days in the South Shetland and two days in the Antarctic Peninsula. The price is around 6,000 euros. The 14-day trips are called the Antarctic Circle, as they go further south than the 60th parallel. The focus of these trips is also the Shetlands and the peninsular territory, although touching points further south: prices are around 8,000 euros. The most complete trip usually lasts between 20 and 24 days and apart from the above points, usually includes visits to South Georgia and the Falklands. It is a brutal trip, but the price goes over 10,000 euros.
