How to travel america

Travel by bus from Colombia to South America

We arrived to Mountain View after 170 days, to arrive we traveled always with north direction about 25.100 Km, after crossing the bridge of San Francisco we began the return, being that point more to the north that we reached in the way.

My idea and objective was to expose a series of personal theories based on my experiences in the internet sector to the directors of the great search engine, opinions and visions of the future of some of their products, maybe with such a trip I would call their attention and they would attend me.

I also wanted to thank them for the Adsense program that changed my life when I almost lost it due to an illness that left me with reduced mobility for a long time and see if I could win an internship or temporary job in the Sillicon Valley.

Every time I said I wanted to talk to one of the founders they laughed, as if I wasn’t serious, I bet for sure their founders would have welcomed me at least to say hello if they knew that a fan of their products had made such a trip.

Budget for traveling in South America by car

More and more adventurers are daring to travel the entire continent in their own car. Although it sounds difficult, it is possible. In this blog post, we tell the story of those who have dared.

The trip around the world is not just a Jules Verne’s title, this dream is no longer impossible, let alone crossing the American continent. This has been demonstrated by some intrepid travelers, however, they do it without spending on flights or bus tickets. The means of transportation they use is something unique: their automobile.

And although America is a vast continent, there are several stories of travelers who have decided to undertake this magnificent journey. Such is the case of Kathy and Leland – Peruvian and American – this couple undertook a trip from Peru to their place of residence in the city of Washington, United States, during 2015, accompanied by their two children and their accomplice Kiara, a 2007 KIA Sorento.

The objective of this project called “Enrutados” was to return home in an unconventional way, get to know new places and inspire others. After six months on the road, 14 countries visited and 31,670 kilometers driven, they made it to their destination. Of course, many are the stories and adventures that accompany this journey.

3- Easter Island, Chile (via David Berkowitz): Some 3,600 kilometers away from mainland Chile, Easter Island is very popular worldwide for the Moais, huge stone statues scattered across the island. Apart from that, visitors can enjoy a sunny day on its beaches and go surfing, diving or snorkeling.

5- Uyuni Salt Flat, Bolivia (via Lime884): The impressive Salar de Uyuni, located some 3,656 meters above sea level, is the largest of its kind in the world and serves as inspiration for photographers looking for the perfect occasion to capture fantasy photos. It is often visited as part of a 3 to 4 day tour.

6- Angel Falls, Venezuela (via ENT108): Located within the Camaima National Park, this wonder of nature has a height of 979 meters, making it the highest waterfall on the planet. Even more interesting is its distant location and difficult access (it can only be reached by small plane and then by canoe), making Angel Falls an attraction not so frequented by people.

Requirements for travel in South America

Insurance, border crossing, budget and itinerary. Travel from Manizales to Tierra del Fuego. Passing through the Panamerican Highway, Route 40 and Carretera Austral. Traveling by car is easier than you think. 32,000 kilometers round trip. Good vibes!

We quit our jobs and decided to spend our savings on a life-changing trip. We sold some things to raise more money to buy the car that would take us from Manizales to the end of the world: Ushuaia.

We have to admit that we had no idea how to start, nor how much we were going to spend. None of our friends or acquaintances had made the trip and there was little information we could find on the internet.

After analyzing several car options and according to our budget, we decided to choose a 2007 Chevrolet Vitara with a 1,600 c.c. engine, 4×4 traction. A perfect car to have power in any terrain and very economical gasoline.

The good news is that you are not alone. On the route you can find people who go by car, bicycle, motorcycles, hitchhiking or walking. We feel that the will to do it and the desire to know is the most important thing.
