Since 2008, countries that are part of the Visa Waiver Program (VWP)have been required to apply for an ESTA online before flying or sailing to the United States. Passengers who have not enrolled in ESTA risk being denied a flight, although they can regularize their status at the airport for a possible additional fee. As of May 2, 2022, the I-94W form will be replaced by the ESTA electronic authorization.
The Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) is a process for determining the admissibility of visitors to the United States to determine whether they pose a risk to national security or law enforcement. The system checks law enforcement databases.
If you are granted ESTA, it establishes that you are eligible to travel, but does not establish that you are eligible to enter the United States under the Visa Waiver Program. Upon arrival in the United States, you will be interviewed by a U.S. border protection officer at a port of entry, who can determine whether you are inadmissible under the Visa Waiver Program or for any reason provided under U.S. law.
Spaniards can travel to the United States without a visa
If you wish to travel to the United States for more than 90 days, for tourism, business or medical reasons, you will probably need to apply for a U.S. visa. Of course, if you meet the requirements of the ESTA visa waiver system, which we describe in more detail on this website, you will not need to apply for a visa. But if you do need a visa, you may be wondering how much it will cost.
Now we are going to explain you concretely what these two types of American visas allow you because, in short, the B1 visa allows you to make a business trip to the USA while the B2 visa will correspond more to tourist trips in this country, but also to other needs such as a stay for medical reasons.
The amount you will have to pay is essential to cover the costs of studying your file, conducting the individual interview, which we will discuss in more detail below, and the issuance of your visa. It is therefore normal to be charged for this process.

Citizens of El Salvador need a visa to travel to the United States. A nonimmigrant visa is a permit to enter the United States, once approved it is placed in the passport, a travel document issued by the authorities of the applicant’s country. An American visa allows you to travel to the United States, but does not guarantee your entry or determine the amount of time allowed for your stay. Immigration officers at the port of entry make those decisions.
Certain citizens of some countries (European and some Asian countries) may travel to the United States without a visa, if they meet certain requirements. For more information about the Visa Waiver Program, please visit the following link.
