The unguarded border, USA CANADA, crossing on foot
The challenge is to interest more Canadians to travel a little further south, to encourage them to add hours of flight time. In fact, one of the advantages of South America is the counter-season. And another is that it shares the time zones of the country of origin, avoiding the jetlag factor, at least with respect to Asia and Europe.
With the opening of new Air Canada frequencies (Montreal-Lima, Toronto-Ezeiza) and facilities in several countries -online visa in Brazil, reciprocity fee exemption in Argentina- several South American destinations are developing concrete strategies with an eye on this market.
Colombia, where Canadian tourism grew almost 20% in 2017, aimed directly at making a place for itself in one of the main segments of interest for this tourist: all-inclusive hotels on the beach.
Anyway, the profile of Canadians arriving in South American countries indicates that cultural attractions, adventure, nature, and local culture are among their main stimuli. These are areas in which South America has a lot to offer.
Why 90% of Canadians live below the poverty line.
Also, at an upcoming date (to be confirmed), all passengers arriving in Canada will be required to undergo a mandatory Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test at the airport of arrival and wait in one of the hotels previously selected by the Federal Government until they obtain their results.
The expenses for 72 hours of stay in the selected hotel must be covered by each traveler and the fee can reach up to 2,000 Canadian dollars. Anyone who tests positive for PCR must be held for 14 days in a government facility.
Similarly, all air passengers must complete the quarantine period (14 days) required by Canadian authorities. The quarantine plan of all passengers will continue to be reviewed by a Government of Canada official and, if not adequate, they will be required to comply with the quarantine requirement at a federal quarantine facility.
The Government of Mexico hopes that the latest measure announced by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau can be withdrawn as soon as possible in order to prevent a deep economic crisis in the North American region.
Canada VS United States Which has a better quality of life?
With a valid eTA you can travel to Canada as often as you wish for short stays (usually for periods of up to six months at a time). You do not need an eTA to travel within Canada.
An eTA does not guarantee entry into Canada. When you arrive in Canada, a border services officer will ask to see your passport and other documents. You will need to convince the officer that you are admissible to enter Canada.
Applying for an eTA is a simple online process that takes only a few minutes. Most applicants get their eTA approval (via email) within minutes. However, some applications may take several days to process if you are asked to send supporting documents. It is best to obtain an eTA before booking your flight to Canada.
When we approve your eTA, the authorization will be linked to the passport you used to make the application. You are required to present that passport when you check in at the airline counter for your flight to Canada.
