United Kingdom leaves only 7 Latin American countries on its “list

British authorities have already lifted many of the restrictions. But the progress of the delta variant is causing alarm especially after the prime minister announced that he was exposed.
The State Department raised its travel warning for the United Kingdom to its highest level on Monday, following similar action taken by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) earlier in the day.
The review was issued after the British people celebrated “Freedom Day,” the official end of nearly all coronavirus restrictions, including the mandatory wearing of masks and social distancing.
Cases in the UK exceeded 50,000 per day last week for the first time since January. The increase is largely due to the delta variant of the virus, first identified in India.

In accordance with ESTA regulations that went into effect on August 1, 2008, international travelers traveling to the United States must apply for travel authorization as soon as possible, but no less than 72 hours prior to the departure of their international flight.
Due to changes in ESTA application processing, real-time approvals will no longer be available. Passengers who apply on the same day as their flight departure risk not having an ESTA approved prior to departure. International travelers without ESTA approval will not be able to board their flight to the United States.
The information is in the official languages of the 34 countries included in the U.S. list. These are the countries whose citizens do not need a visa to enter the U.S. for a stay of no more than 90 days.
New, more contagious strain appears in UK
The changes announced today place El Salvador with many other countries that require visas and with which the UK has strong and friendly relations. Visas provide access to the UK, while helping to protect its borders.
A UK Temporary Visa Application Center will operate regularly in El Salvador, where travelers will be able to submit their passport and provide their biometric data. The first session of this center is scheduled to operate on May 19 and 20, with the aim of allowing applicants to receive their visas before the end of the June 8 transition period, with a future session of the Visa Application Center planned for early June.

Ecuador is on the red list of countries in the United Kingdom, so only British, Irish nationals and people with right of residence in the UK will be allowed access to the country. They will have to undergo compulsory isolation for ten (10) days and eleven (11) nights in one of the authorized hotels; all expenses are at the expense of each citizen. For travelers from the United Kingdom, Australia, South Africa and the European Union entering the country on December 22, or through humanitarian flights regardless of the date, the following must be presented:
– In the event that a traveler residing in Ecuador has boarded or embarked with a positive RT-PCR test, the rapid antigen test will not be performed and must perform mandatory isolation at the address declared upon entry for ten (10) days; and, in the case of travelers not residing in Ecuador must perform mandatory isolation in one of the hotels authorized for this purpose in a strict manner for ten (10) days.
