EU considers ban on flights with South Africa
The Ministry of Health has agreed to lift the ban on flights from Brazil and South Africa, which had been in force since February 2021. However, travelers will have to observe a ten-day quarantine period.
This quarantine period, which has been ratified by the National Court, may end earlier if the person voluntarily undergoes a diagnostic test or PCR with a negative result at the end of one week.
The consideration of a high-risk country is based on the joint evaluation of the main epidemiological indicators used for this purpose at the European Union level. The criteria contemplated include the cumulative incidence per 100,000 inhabitants in 14 days, the positivity rate, the rate of diagnostic tests, or the rate of vaccinated population, according to the BOE.

The communiqué, published on the institution’s website, indicates that people who have been in one of the six countries mentioned during the 14 days prior to their arrival in Turkey must have a negative PCR certificate, but they must also observe a 14-day quarantine in a place of which they will inform the authorities, and take another PCR test at the end of this period.
There will no longer be a night curfew, nor a weekend curfew, and work activity, including in the hotel and catering sector, will return to the normal working hours as before the pandemic, according to the Ministry’s communiqué.
